With all the high gas prices out there, hybrid vehicles are continuing to become more popular among drivers. There are a few hybrid choices out there, but the Mazda Tribute Hybrid seems to be the most popular of those choices. Several distinct features make up the interior and exterior of the Mazda Tribute Hybrid.

The Mazda Tribute SUV hybrid looks similar to its siblings and is boxier than it is sleek. That doesn’t mean it’s not a sharp looking vehicle. The classic look it has didn’t appeal to a lot of hybrid drivers, and they were less than enthused with the aesthetic features. But that hasn’t stopped consumers from swooping these up in droves. They like the clean lines and familiar look.

And you have to love the ‘it looks like an Escape’ no, it looks like a Mariner’ conversations among hybrid consumers. Face it, people, it looks like both, meaning it looks like a Mazda Tribute. Fanatics will tell you that their hybrid is individual. Their grilles do not have crossbars. The tail and headlights are designed well and elegantly. And their logo says ‘Mazda’.

The fog lights that come equipped on the Tribute are stock and good for trim levels of fog, good for touring and grand touring. The windows are nicely tapered with an ascent towards the back. This is pretty standard shaping for hybrid SUVs big or small that is currently on the market.

Consumers really like the driving position in this vehicle, enjoying the ability of having good ground clearance and excellent visibility all around. This makes it easy to take and park just about anywhere. There is plenty of head room so you won’t knock your noggin and the cargo space is large. The doors are dressed well and the wheels will rock your world. Plus, you can buy this hybrid SUV in a variety of colors.

The Inside:

Convinced to go out and buy one yet? Then go. Run. Get it before they run out of your favorite color. Otherwise…keep reading. You’re going to want to know more about the interior of the Mazda Tribute Hybrid. Considering that most SUVs are pretty roomy, the Tribute won’t let you down.

The driver’s seat is in an elevated position so that the driver has ample visibility all the way around. This is one of the things that driver’s are raving about because they are discovering they can see the road better and still be extremely comfortable. This visibility factor is especially good when the weather is inclement with snow and rain. This is also a big factor safety advocates like as well.

Five adults can sit comfortably in the Tribute and it’s perfect for the family trip. Everyone will be comfortable during long drives thanks to the spacious inside and little storage compartments that hold a variety of things. It’s amazing what children will hide in them and parents will enjoy the small compartments in the front to hide stuff as well.

The center console is nice too with more little compartments for things such as change, cup holders, sunglasses…if it fits in the cubby holes, you can put it in there. Some of the cubbies even have removable pieces to expand or shrink the holes. The cargo area behind the rear seat is 29.2 cubic-feet that expand to 66 cubic-feet when the seats are folded down. The seats split 60:40 which still allows two more people to sit in back when carrying long cargo. And the rear window will open separately so that you can access the cargo area without opening the entire back hatch.

When looking at the exterior of the Lexus RX 400h Hybrid, most people see a middle sized hybrid version of the popular RX 350 SUV. Of course this makes sense because it basically is the RX 350 SUV with a different engine. What you find on the outside of the 350 you find on the Lexus RX 400h Hybrid. The Lexus RX 400h Hybrid is just more fuel-efficient with its dual electric motors in addition to the gasoline one.

Both vehicles are elegantly styled, and share the same dimensions. There are a couple of differences, like the front grills and round fog lights. The tail lights are different, and the outside paint job comes in a larger variety of colors which are brushed and includes aluminum interior accents instead of the wood trim that is reminiscent of the regular SUV version. The 2006 was noticeably different in that it had wood trim that was called Bird’s Eye Maple.

As mentioned before, the 2008 edition includes changes to the exterior such as chrome door handles, revised front grille, and rear spoiler. And don’t forget the new 18 inch wheels. Is it enough to attract new customers? Yup. This vehicle is sleek, aerodynamic with a raked windshield and sloping roofline. The whole vehicle has been put together seamlessly and it’s assuredly one of the best assembly jobs Toyota has done in a long time.

People who like the outside will love the inside and it’s pretty natural to expect only top quality in the cabin. It’s spacious and the buyers love it. The cabin can seat five and looks entirely different from the standard RX 350. It makes a statement, claiming its own identity in the SUV world. The driver’s and passenger’s front seats are well-padded – cushy comes to mind – and everything is well in the driver’s reach along the front console. The gauges are easy to read and the wood trim tops it all off. And there is a touch screen information display that gives the driver immediate access to amount of gasoline left, how much charge is in the battery, oil life, tire pressure, and more. This kind of information has become fairly standard on all SUV’s, hybrids or not.

The rear seats are just as cushy with plenty of headroom and legroom for taller passengers. There is nothing worse than cracking your skull on the roof whenever you climb in and out of a vehicle. Okay, feeling like a pretzel is worse. The seats have a 40/20/40 configuration which means they can be split and fold down to increase the cargo space. The cargo space isn’t the Grand Canyon, but it can hold quite a bit and with both passenger seats folded down, you get 85 cubic feet that can also be reached by the tailgate. There is no third row seat and Toyota’s other popular SUV, the Highlander, is the same way. Many of the competitor’s vehicles offer an optional third row seat that can be folded down to make cargo space.

The front seats are powered and can move in ten different directions. There are dual climate controls, steering wheel controls, and a six-CD changer with an eight speaker radio system. The second row seats slide and recline. Additional ala carte options include power-tilt steering, sunroof, driver seat memory, leather upholstery, back-up camera, navigations, audio package and rear-seat DVD. Just think how quiet the children will be on that long trip or how nice it will be to shuffle the CDs without having to fumble for the case.

While adding power and performance to your ride is vital, you cannot neglect the aesthetic aspect of vehicle customization. There are several ways to ramp up the look and style of your car. Body kits, color changing paint jobs, towering wing spoilers and custom wheels can all change the way your car looks. However, if you’re looking for a great (and relatively inexpensive) way to change your ride’s appearance, your exterior lights can be the best place to start. So, what can you find in the way of custom exterior lighting?

Taillights: Custom taillights can give your ride an incredible look and greater functionality. OEM taillights are infamous for their bland looks and low performance. Euro taillights and other styles can dramatically change the way your car or truck looks. Most taillights are available in a variety of colors and finishes, from the likes of crystal clear to carbon fiber and deep red. Smoked lenses and LED technology provide additional options for your needs. If you want to increase the looks of your ride without the need to cut, drill or trim, purchase a set of taillights made to fit your specific vehicle. LED technology is a great look and a great way to get a long lasting lighting solution; however, you will not find it available for all vehicles.

Headlights: Your headlights say a lot about your car. In addition, they are often one of the first parts of your car to show visible signs of aging. Pitting, yellowing and cracking are all common problems with OEM headlights, as well as the dull looks and low-end styling. Changing out your headlights can give your car a dramatic facelift. Projector headlights are currently the most popular aftermarket lighting type. These provide pure white light, great range and a stylish look for your ride. You can also find stylish headlights that use traditional halogen bulbs, as well. H1, H3, H4, H7 and H13 halogen bulbs are widely available. Find out if your new headlights come with new bulbs (most don’t, you’ll need to have new bulbs on hand).

Fog Lights: Few accessories will set off your ride as much as a set of custom fog lights. You’ll find two varieties from which to choose: in bumper and exterior mounted. In-bumper fog lights will require the removal of your bumper cover and a little bit of cutting in order to install them. Exterior mounted fog lights mount with screws or bolt to any flat surface on your car, such as the underside of your bumper, the recesses of your grill and more. Either type is an excellent way to dramatically increase your light emission, as well as the look of your ride. Most fog lights are universal, though you will find some sets that are vehicle specific. Vehicle specific sets will give you a more streamlined look. Find out if the fog lights come with bulbs (many do, though you will find some sets that do not include bulbs).
